Hello! I’m Daisy Symons — your super‑passionate, slightly ditsy creative writing student — and this page is dedicated to the work I create both for university and in my own time. Now that my first year has wrapped up and my grades are out, I finally get to share some of the pieces I’ve written over the past year. And if you’re lucky, after a lot of revision, I might even post some of my earlier work too.
I spend my days pulling apart stories and my nights making new ones, in whatever form they choose to take. Poems, scripts, short films, half‑formed novels, comic pages, scenes with no clear destination yet… I write across forms and genres, letting each idea decide its own category because, honestly, why not? Life’s too short for everything to look the same — and I’m not built for boring.
My work leans queer, gritty, grunge‑soft, emotional, dark in places and tender in others. I’m drawn to stories that bruise a little, characters who feel real enough to sit beside you, and moments that refuse to behave or fit neatly into a single box.
Nothing here is polished into perfection — but I’ll always try to give you the best version I can.
So if you’ve found yourself on this page and need a break from my essay‑like book reviews, have a wander and see what catches your eye. You might just find something that speaks to you and refuses to be put down.
